The Yukon Police Department (YPD) is reporting the escape of Sierra Rhodes, 24, from custody.

Rhodes was stopped by YPD for a traffic violation about 1:30 Sunday morning in the 500 block of Elm Avenue in Yukon. A release from police says "Rhodes gave officers false information related to his identity. Once officers confirmed who Rhodes was, they also discovered he had two active warrants for his arrest through Oklahoma and Pottawatomie Counties."

The warrants from Oklahoma County were for possession of stolen vehicle, possession of firearms after former conviction, possession of stolen property, and attempting to elude police. The warrant from Pottawatomie County was from failure to appear in court. Rhodes was placed into the back of a patrol car, from which he managed to escape.

YPD says Rhodes does not have a permanent residence and may be staying with friends when he can. Anyone with information about Rhodes is asked to contact the Yukon Police Department at 405-354-2553 or notify the nearest law enforcement agency.
