Wanted felon arrested after being caught with 3 runaway teens (KTUL)

A wanted man out of Arkansas is in jail after Tulsa police said they caught him with three runaway teens at a Walmart.

Police said they received a call on Saturday evening from parents in Rogers, Arkansas saying that their 17-year-old daughter was on the run with a wanted felon and they may be in the Tulsa area.

The parents informed the officers that their daughter and the suspect, Asckom Sheppard were at the Walmart at Admiral and Memorial Walmart because their car broke down.

When police arrived, they say Sheppard and three others tried to run from police while the 17-year-old and her puppy stayed behind.

A K-9 found them hiding under cars in a nearby driveway.

Police arrested Sheppard for his felony charges which include robbery, possession of a handgun by a minor, fleeing by vehicle, and fraud.

The three juveniles are being held until their parents arrive from Arkansas to pick them up, police said.
