A third-grade Tulsa student got to ride to school Wednesday with the Tulsa Fire Department as part of National Fire Prevention Week.
Katie Zamarripa got to trade the school bus for a fire truck after she made a contest-winning poster. Her class at Sequoyah Elementary greeted her when she arrived at school.
"Katie was super excited this morning, and it really gives her an opportunity to talk to her classmates about the things that she learned, and certainly her classmates get excited about the potential for next year as well," said Andrew Little with the Tulsa Fire Department.
Firefighters say they love interacting with the community in this way.
