Police say a teenager is in custody after an overnight chase in east Tulsa.
An officer tried to stop a car that matched the description of a car involved in recent burglaries in the area, but police say the driver took off and was able to get away from the officer. Another officer spotted the car near 51st and 129th East Avenue and started chasing it, but the officer called off the chase due to high speeds, according to police.
A little while later, an officer on patrol saw a teenager running through a nearby neighborhood. A K9 officer was called in to track him, but police say he gave up just before the dog grabbed hold of him.
Police say they found the car they were chasing near 63rd and 112th East Avenue.
Police say the teenager was arrested, but it's not clear why he ran from officers. Investigators have not said if they believe the teen is connected to the burglaries in the area.
