Crash leaves big rig dangling off Oklahoma highway overpass

UPDATE: After nearly eight hours, crews were able to remove the semi from the overpass.

OHP says all lanes of I-40 and the northbound lanes of Indian Nation Turnpike/US-75 are back open.


UPDATE: The Oklahoma Highway Patrol and emergency workers are dealing Monday with a semitruck hanging off the Interstate 40 overpass at Indian Nation Turnpike/US-75 in Henryetta.

The OHP said there were multiple vehicles involved.

One vehicle did not yield before merging onto I-40 westbound and collided with the big rig, causing the semitruck to crash into the guard rail and roll.

Troopers said debris from the crash landed on vehicles that were traveling northbound on the Indian Nation Turnpike/US-75.

Only minor injuries have been reported for all involved.

The OHP said the roads could remain closed for at least another two hours while they work to clear the roads.


TULSA, Okla. (KTUL) - The Oklahoma Highway Patrol and emergency crews are responding to a semitruck that's hanging off the Interstate 40 bridge at the Indian Nation Turnpike in Henryetta.

The OHP closed all northbound traffic on the Indian Nation Turnpike/US-75 and all westbound traffic on I-40 around 2:30 p.m. Monday until further notice.

Westbound I-40 traffic is being diverted to US-75B in Henryetta, and northbound US-75 traffic is being detoured to eastbound I-40.
