Oklahoma Highway Patrol says four troopers were struck by gunfire while serving a felony warrant on a suspect.

The male suspect opened fire at troopers with what they believe was a fully automatic weapon on May 11 in downtown Talihina , according to the OHP.

Troopers returned fire during the shootout and the four troopers sustained minor injuries. A fifth trooper was also struck by gunfire, but was protected by his ballistic vest.

The troopers who were injured are Trp. Brett Stephens, Trp. Brandon Seward, Trp. Sammy Lee, Trp. Chris Bunch, and Trp. Chance Tuttle.

During the the exchange of gunfire, a fire started inside the building and spread to neighboring buildings.

The suspect is believed to be dead inside of the burned building.
