The Oklahoma Highway Patrol is reporting the death of Landon Sayers, 30 of Altus, Okla., from injuries he received in a crash that involved five vehicles on Interstate 40 in Caddo County Friday night.

The crash was reported just after 9:30 p.m. in the westbound lanes of I-40 near mile marker 102 just north of Hinton. OHP reports the drive shaft on a semi-truck, driven by Feliz Zuniga, 43 of Hennessey, broke.

Three cars hit the debris on the roadway, and the car driven by Sayers, according to OHP, hit the guardrail and rolled a number of times. Sayers was pinned in the car for an unknown amount of time before being freed by the Hinton Fire Department. Sayers was then taken to a hospital in El Reno where he was pronounced dead.

A fifth vehicle, traveling eastbound, ran into debris from Sayers' car and hit a guardrail.

No other injuries were reported.
