A soldier training at Fort Sill will survive after being hit by a bullet while training Saturday morning.
The soldier was struck on his Kevlar helmet, according to Ft. Sill Public Information Officer Keith Pannell. Pannell said the incident happened just after 11:30 a.m.
The soldier was participating in training when the bullet from an adjacent training ground struck him according to Pannell. Military personnel with medical training evaluated the soldier at the scene, who was then transported by ambulance to a hospital where he was treated and released.
The circumstances of the incident is under investigation. The name of the injured soldier was not released.
